The incoming President-elect of the Philippines Rodrigo Duterte plans to create a direct hotline where people can report corrupt practices in the government.
On a Thanksgiving celebration on the Sugbo Grounds at the South Road Properties, Cebu City, Duterte says that low profile employees in the government can now air their grievances on their managers who are involved in the corrupt practices.
12 hotlines will be dedicated to directly transfer calls to the President.
The plan aims to immediately address the reports on corrupt practices or to provide direct assistance for the Filipinos for 24/7.
The public hotline will be operated by 10 call agents to receive public complaints and grievances.
Davao City’s 911 hotline could possibly be used, but there is no final confirmation about its decision.
Earlier, the incoming Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Chief Isidro Lapena had already published there text hotlines via Peter Tiu Lavina’s Facebook post.
Duterte’s spokesperson, Peter Tiu Lavina urges the community to actively participate in the incoming administration’s drive against criminality and drugs.
He added that the incoming Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Chief Isidro Lapena will treat all information with confidentiality and shall undergo a verification and confirmation process.
