Alleged Eastern Visayas drug lord Kerwin Espinosa will name at least two incumbent senators, along with other high-ranking government officials, who supposedly received drug money, whistleblower Sandra Cam claimed Monday. In an interview with reporters, Cam said Kerwin personally delivered money amounting to a total of P5.7 million to one senator back in 2015. “Sa isang senator, si Kerwin mismo… Ang nasabi sa 'kin, isang P1.7 [million], isang P2 million at another P2 million, so it’s P5.7 [million],” she said. Cam said the amounts were delivered back in October, November and December 2015 in Metro Manila and “up north.” Asked for what purpose the drug money were used, Cam said: “Baka sa kampanya kasi it’s already October, November, December, kasagsagan na namin ‘yun 'di ba?” Cam ran for senator in the 2016 national elections. She said the other senator has never been accused of being involved in drug operations. “The mere fact that you accepted money from a drug lord eh 'di naging drug protector ka na nun,” Cam said.
Cam claims she tipped off Kerwin’s whereabouts to authorities. She said she personally talked to Kerwin while the latter was detained in Abu Dhabi. Kerwin arrived in Manila last week and has vowed to “tell all” on the personalities involved in illegal drug operations. Pressed whether Senator Leila de Lima, who is accused of being involved in drugs, was one of the two senators, Cam said: “I don’t want to say right now na nasa listahan siya pero siya ang nagsasabi na hindi mawawala na hindi siya i-pin down. It’s coming from her mouth.” De Lima earlier said she expects Kerwin to tag her in drug operations as part of the government’s efforts to destroy her reputation based on fabricated evidence. Aside from senators, Cam said Kerwin also tagged other high-ranking officials. “Kahindik-hindik na hindi natin kakayanin tingnan ang mga pangalan na pinangalanan niya,” Cam said. “I can say, for now, basta malalaking tao, senador, congressmen, gobernador, mayor, general at mga may binaggit na fiscal na doon natin makikita kung gaano na katalamak ang proteksyon ng droga,” she said. - See more at: http://www.gmanetwork.com/news/story/589608/news/nation/kerwin-to-name-2-senators-involved-in-drug-trade-sandra-cam#sthash.9SSXKAVa.dpuf
